Moderating Effects of Grandparent¡®s Support on the Relationship between Parenting Stress and Adaptability in Families of person with disab

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the moderating effects of grandparent¡¯s support on the relationships between parenting stress and adaptability in families of person with disabilities. Data were collected from 204 families of person with disabilities in Daejeon. The statistical significance was tested by SPSS 18.0. The result were as follows: 1) The average point from a 5-point-scale for grandparent¡¯s support was 2.32. 2) Among the three factors of support, social and economic support shows the lowest support. With respect to the differences of background variables about grandparent¡¯s support showed meaningful differences according to the presence of a spouse, parents¡¯monthly income. 3) The effect of parenting stress on adaptability in families of person with disabilities was modified by grandparent¡¯s support. These results suggest practical implications for strengthening grandparent¡¯s support.
